We talked to Rosen and Amy about our project. These conversations were really helpful for the process, they gave us insights in what to do next and how to use our skills and differences to complete each other in a sense. Rosen gave us the insight that we have in fact the perfect combination of backgrounds for a magazine like this: Fashion, branding, communication, photography & writing, we of course knew this but we’ve never realized how this could actually help us. She also gave us a lot of tips and recommendations for the magazine itself. Amy told us we should see ourselves as ‘the Powerpuff girls’, which was quite funny, but of course had a grain of truth in it as well. Because of this, we’ve made two about the author pages where we explain our background and interests + a visualization of ourselves as an emoji.

Hi, I’m Elke. I live in the city centre of Amsterdam and celebrate life! I’m 20 years old, openminded, curious and eager to learn. I spent a lot of time with my family and friends. As much I love to be with people I also like to be with myself and my guilty pleasures; take-away food and realityshows. I’m an ambitious person and want to contribute something to the world with fashion as the means. My inspiration for my Fashion and Branding studies are cities, people and art. You can find me in museums and on the streets (always talking to strangers and making pictures of tiny details). I enjoy listening stories out of my inner circle. I like watching how people behave and react to each other. How they react to art, how they react to experiences like demonstrations. How they respond to social media. I’m very aware of my surroundings but I’m also aware of myself. I’m a white girl who grew up in a safe space with a lot of privileges. I want to use my position to do something good. Start a conversation in an approachable way. My always looking eyes and always hearing ears are my superpower to connect people to each other and make the world a little more understanding and respectful.

I like to make heavy subject accessible, to make it fun. Not too complicated or too big. So I went to our archive and choose for daily things with a meaningful message. Social media for example, but also podcasts. When I was going trough old magazines there are always must do lists. The perfect format to put al these little inspirational mediums together.

This was a very productive, inspiring and fun week!! We did a lot and we have a goal where we can work forward to. Having a goal, a destination motivates and helps me to work hard! The next weeks we will be making the magazine. I'm exited to use indesign and photoshop again ;)!! I feel proud about my essay and I feel like I've really learned something. I know what I can and want to do with my position in the society, with my privilege, the feeling of guilt made place for a feeling of confidence that I can make a difference if I want to and now I know how!

This time writing my essay I was really inspired. I had a plan how to write it but mostly what to write. So I went to the library for two full days and the essay was done. I felt quit confident and proud this time. I adjust everything with more depth, skipped a big part that didn't really add anything. And worked with Teana's comments and tips.

Last week we agreed to all make a spread for a magazine, not fully worked but an idea. When we had our meeting we putted everything together to see how we can work this out. It was very inspirational to see what the others had made and ideas popped up into our minds. We made a list with al our ideas and after that we started organising them into categories. When we felt like everything was balanced out we began to divide the first subjects. We also decided that we all are going to write about our relation to privilege, to keep it personal. And that we all are going to write a column, subject will be decided later.

After Amy's feedback (see down below) we came with the idea of a introductory round. I used my bitmoji for my Hot glue so I came up with the idea to use that as our "image"
