To understand culture, religion, familie you need to understand the material reality they are based on first. The economy is the foundation and anything else is based and build on that.

Modes of production
Productive forces: these include human labour power and means of production. Social and technical relations of production: cooperative work relations and forms of association, relations between people and the objects of their work and the relations between social classes.

Forces of production
All those forces which are applied by people in the production process are encompassed by this concept, including those management and engineering functions technically indispensable for production. Human knowledge can also be a productive force.

Relations of production
The sum total of social relationships that people must enter into in order to survive, to produce, and to reproduce their means of life.

Means of production
The social means of production are capital goods and assets that require organised collective labor effort, as opposed to individual effort, to operate on. The ownership and organisation of the social means of production is a key factor in categorising and defining different types of economic systems.

Hegemony
Leadership or dominance, especially by one state or social group over others.

Conflict theories
Perspectives in sociology and social psychology that emphasize a materialist interpretation of history, dialectical method of analysis, a critical stance toward existing social arrangements, and political program of revolution or, at least, reform.

The difference between a manifest and a latent function of things that society develops to keep it going is that a manifest is an intended function.A latent function is unintended consequences from manifest functions.

Important institutions in my life today are school, (social)media, the government, especially right now during Covid-19 pandemic.

Social facts:
These object have persuasive effects over individuals, yet they can't be influenced by individuals. People do not notice socials facts, unless they try to resist them.
